I love the story behind this week's feature, The Sweet Life. One day, the now owner, Jennifer Loftus was asked to make a sweet 16 cake.  From there her passion grew and eventually The Sweet Life was born.  Her shop is based out of North Carolina.  Her website, www.thesweetlifedirect.com, is very informative and has  an extensive photo gallery.  When you are done checking out my favorites, you should definitely stop by and see what else she has created.  Enjoy!

This time I started with my favorite.  The buckles look great!

Very creative idea.  I love the gumpaste stethoscope!

Wonderful job on this castle.  It is any little girl's dream cake!

The dots really caught my attention on this one.  Very cool!

I love black and red together like this and that piping work is amazing!

Once again, I'm a huge fan of pops of color.

Thanks again to Jennifer for sharing your cakes with us.  Now show her some love and visit The Sweet Life.

We have 3 kids and Jenn has made cakes for each of them. The time she takes to ask questions about their likes and dislikes really made them feel special. Jenn's attention to detail is second to none. She puts the love of a mother into every sweet treat that comes out of her kitchen. I would have no problem recommending "The sweet life" for any occasion. Oh, one more thing. The craftsmanship of her cakes is only surpassed by the way they taste. Her frosting is light, sweet and made of something straight out of heaven.
