I have been using Wilton products for years. In fact, it was the combined efforts of the Wilton Cake Decorating Classes and my friend Michelle that created my love for cake. Sometime this past year my local craft store began selling Wilton's new line of baking products and I have always been a little curious about them. So, you can imagine my excitement when I was given the opportunity to review their Cyclone Whisk, Rolling Pin, and Cake Lifter. Read the others...

What is Wilton?
If you read any of my cake guides, you will notice a common theme throughout; I am usually recommending some kind of Wilton products. For those of you who are not familiar with the company, here is a little background.
In 1929,Dewey McKinley Wilton opened a small, one room, cake decorating school for caterers and chefs. From this small beginning, Wilton has grown into a company that helps chefs and moms alike. Today you can take Wilton classes at many of your local craft stores. In fact, with a little training, you can even become a Wilton instructor. On their website, www.wilton.com, you can purchase supplies, find cake decorating and cookie making instructions, get tons of ideas and recipes, as well as visit a forum to get your decorating questions answered. In short, Wilton is filled with resources to help you become the decorator you aspire to be.
My Cyclone Whisk Experience
According to the packages highlights, the Cyclone Whisk contains a center spiral to "whip mixes faster and more efficiently." It also claims to be easily cleaned and comfortable to hold. While testing this product, I made sure to note it's ability to live up to these statements.
I have to admit, out of the three products I will be reviewing, this was the one I was dreading. Perhaps it was because I knew that to truly test this product I was going to have to make whipped cream by hand. Anyone who has ever done this knows the time and arm pain it takes to make whipped cream without an electric mixer. To be honest, it can take 5 minutes even with an electric mixer but the time isn't as much of a factor when you don't have to worry about your arm falling off from all the whipping.
So, I started off small. I made instant pudding. With a regular whisk you are supposed to mix the ingredients for two minutes. After only a few flicks of my wrist and half the time, the pudding was thoroughly mixed and ready for the fridge. By the way...it tasted delicious!
Next, I decided to make scrambled eggs. As I suspected, the eggs were well beaten in half the time it takes to use a fork or a regular whisk. At this point I was starting to wonder if making the whipped cream was going to be as hard as I was anticipating. To my delight, it was not.
After adding all of my ingredients into the bowl I shook out my arm in preparation of the pain I was anticipating. I really wanted to time how long it would take to make the whipped cream so I looked at the clock and it read 12:56. I started whipping and it was quickly apparent that this was not going to take long at all. After my stiff peaks of whipped cream were achieved I looked at the clock and it read 12:58. No lie, it took me two minute to make whipped cream with the Cyclone Whisk. That is 3 minutes faster than the electric mixer! As far as the arm pain, there was a little but, then again, I'm used to taking the lazy man's route. Even more, it really was comfortable to hold and it's non-slip grip kept the whisk from falling out of my hand. It also came clean very easily after every use and held up well in the dishwasher.
After this extremely positive experience, I highly recommend purchasing Wilton's Cyclone Whisk. This product definitely lives up to it's packaging. Check your local craft store, visit Wilton.com or click the link below to purchase the Cyclone Whisk. Next week(11/23) you will also have a chance to win it.
